about the film
First things first, I am not a filmmaker. I am a singer who can barely work a camera. But, I thought that I owed it to myself, Sheila and my life changing summer experiences to put together all the footage I collected. This is not meant to be a serious documentary work – those who wish to learn more about Sheila and her singing can refer to my biographical essay on her.
There will also be a professional documentary released about Sheila and her student singers soon called Over Home: Love Songs from Madison County, a master’s project from filmmakers Kim Dryden and Joe Cornelius, which will be nothing less than beautiful. Find out more here
This film is just a love letter from me to the songs, and to the people that gave them to me and to the land that makes us kin. I hope the love comes through.
